Hi! I am Lacy Ezell. I was born and raised in Tennessee, living most of my life on Signal Mountain outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. I now call home Franklin, Tennessee where I make art alongside my husband Joseph, pup Larry, and our newest addition baby Adaline. Most of our time is spent exploring the outdoors which is where I draw most of my inspiration.
I attended Sewanee: The University of the South where I studied Studio Art and Art History. My primary focus was in photography, mostly film photography. I spent countless hours in the darkroom exposing hundreds of prints. I loved watching a print come to life through light and chemicals. But more than the just the photographic process, what really drew me towards photography was the places it took me. With a camera in my hand I was encouraged to explore and observe everything that surrounded me. Furthermore, photography helped me understand composition and light which today translate into my paintings. Although photography is where I invested many years of my life, most of my time on this earth has been practicing drawing and painting. Getting back to the roots of brush and canvas is more satisfying than any other art I have practiced. Most recently I have been working with oil and silver leaf and am excited to release my collection in early October.
